My Background |
Ever since I have owned my first dog I have become a "doggie person"!
When my dog developed a fear-related behaviour problem I became committed to finding a solution
without the use of punishment. I found my solution in
'positive training'.
In 2001 I gained a certificate of completion from Massey University for "Principles of
Canine Behaviour"
Since August 2003 I have been providing dog training classes in Devonport.
In 2004 I gained a certificate of proficiency from Unitec for "Applied Canine Behaviour"
I am a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and APDT Australia
I am the New Zealand representative for APDT Australia
I attend seminars and workshops where ever possible to keep up to date with the latest
developments in the 'world of dogs':
- Clicker Training with Kay Laurence, Auckland Mar'04
- APDT Australia Conference with Sue Sternberg, Sydney Oct'05
